Melbourne Funeral Celebrant
Funeral Ceremonies for Real People
Your person was more than a list of dates and achievements. They had quirks, complicated bits, favourite sayings, stories you’ve heard a thousand times and probably a few that shouldn’t be repeated in polite company.
I create honest, personal funeral ceremonies that sound like the person you knew and feel right for the people in the room.
What I Do As Your Funeral Celebrant
There is a lot more to being a funeral celebrant than standing at the front and reading from a script. I meet with you, listen to the stories, ask the questions, write the ceremony, help organise the people taking part and guide everyone through the service on the day.
-
Usually over a cuppa, I’ll sit with your family and ask about your person. We’ll talk about their life, their people, their quirks, the stories you always tell and the little details that made them who they were. There is no perfect way to do this conversation. We simply start wherever feels right.
-
We’ll work through the music, readings, tributes, speakers and any rituals or personal touches you would like to include. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what the funeral should look like. I’ll guide you through the options and help shape a ceremony that feels right for your person and the people attending.
-
No generic scripts or names dropped into a template. I take everything you’ve shared and bring it together into a completely personalised ceremony and eulogy, including the good bits, the hard bits, the stories, the laughter and everything in between. You’ll receive a draft before the funeral so we can make sure it feels right.
-
On the day, I’ll guide the ceremony, deliver the eulogy, introduce and support speakers, cue the important moments and keep everything flowing. More than that, I’ll read the room and know when to speak, when to pause, when a little laughter is needed and when a moment simply needs space to breathe.
Tell Me About Your Person
You do not need to have everything figured out before getting in touch.
Share whatever you know so far, and I’ll come back to you as soon as I can.
